As you may know, grease is a very important role in the use of bearings. Then someone may ask, is it possible to use grease to lubricate the bearings without limit? When should we change the oil and how much oil should we change? In fact, these questions are complex issues of bearing maintenance technology. The answer to the question of whether it is possible to use grease indefinitely is no. The answer is no. Because excessive use of grease is a major problem. Because too much use of grease is harmful to the bearings in many ways. Grease has good effect on bearings, its adhesion, wear resistance, temperature resistance, rust resistance and lubricity are good, it can improve high temperature oxidation resistance, delay aging, dissolve carbon, prevent metal abrasive chips and oil accumulation, improve mechanical wear resistance, pressure resistance and corrosion resistance. However, if the grease filling amount is more, the greater the frictional torque. The same amount of filling, sealed bearing frictional torque is greater than open bearings. Grease filling amount is equivalent to 60% of the internal space of the bearing, after the friction torque is no longer significantly increased. This is because most of the grease in the open bearing has been squeezed out, and the grease in the sealed bearing has also been lost. With the increase of grease filling amount, bearing temperature rise linearly, the same filling amount, sealed bearing temperature rise and higher than open bearings. Generally speaking, the grease filling of sealed rolling bearings should not exceed 50% of the internal space. Generally speaking, the lubrication plan of the bearing is based on the time set. Equipment suppliers usually base their lubrication schedules on operating hours. And, equipment suppliers often include guidance on the amount of lubricant to be used during their maintenance schedules. It is very common for staff to change lubricants for short periods of time, and often the grease added is on the high side.
