1. There are three methods of turning triangular threads, namely, the straight-in method, the left-right cutting method and the oblique cutting method. (1) Straight-in method Using the middle slide plate, the two cutting edges and the tip of the tool are cut at the same time. This method is easy to operate, and the thread shape is clear and the error is small. It is suitable for processing threads with a pitch of less than 2mm and finishing turning of high-precision threads. (2) Left and right cutting method The left-right cutting method is characterized by making only one cutting edge of the turning tool participate in the cutting, and moving a small distance to the left and right with the small tool holder at the same time of each depth of cut into the tool. This repeated cutting several times, turning to the last 1 ~ 2 knife, still use the straight into the method, in order to ensure that the tooth shape is correct, the root of the tooth is clear. This method is suitable for processing threads with large pitch. (3) Oblique cutting method The small tool holder is turned at an angle so that the turning tool is fed in the direction parallel to the right side of the thread to be turned, so that basically only one of the two cutting edges of the turning tool is cutting. This method has less cutting force, better heat dissipation and chip removal, larger cutting amount and higher productivity. However, it is not easy to turn out a clear tooth shape, and the error of tooth shape is large. It is generally applicable to rough turning of large pitch threads.
