Too much grease in the bearing chamber violent riling, increase the bearing rotational resistance, higher temperature and energy consumption, and increased temperatures will also cause oxidation speed grease (metamorphism in advance, to shorten the service life), temperature accelerates the grease base oil with precipitation, and can play the lubrication grease, mainly because of containing oil. After the loss of base oil from the grease inside, the thickener is left, which causes dry hardening, resulting in the new grease can not fully flow to the inner core of the bearing, forming poor lubrication, bearing wear and even cause failure. In addition, the dry grease lump may fall off, break and then into the bearing.

Too much grease will also cause sealing problems. The pressure on the seals will increase, resulting in seal rupture and failure, resulting in lax sealing, introducing impurities and water permeability, and causing damage to the bearings. Pay attention to the pressure of the seal when using the grease gun. Some butter guns can reach 15,000 psi pressure, while the general lip seal can withstand about 500psi, so the grease gun pressure should be reasonable.

For motors, the harm of more grease is similar to bearing, but there is a possible consequence is too much grease, leakage to the motor winding, dry on the surface, resulting in poor heat dissipation of the winding.

(1) Generally, the bearing should not be filled with grease, so that it can be filled to 1/2-3/4 of all the space of the bearing inner cavity;

(2) The horizontal bearing fills 2/3 to 3/4 of the inner cavity space;

(3) The vertical mounted bearing is filled with 1/2 (upper side) and 3/4 (lower side) of the inner space of the cavity;

(4) In the easily polluted environment, for low or medium speed bearings, all the space in the bearing and bearing box should be filled;

(5) High-speed bearings should be put in high quality lubricating oil before loading grease, generally soaked in the base oil of bearing grease to be filled, so as to avoid bearing burning due to insufficient friction surface grease when starting.
